SeaCurity Rescue Marker Buoy

This article is a combination of a marker buoy with a recovery loop and thus fulfills two functions:

  • Rescue equipment, similar to any other rescue loop

  • marker buoy

The signal light and the warning flag at the top of the buoy are about 2 m above the water. The flag and signal light can still be seen clearly even in stronger winds, as the recovery loop stabilizes the buoy in the water and the weight keeps the buoy upright in the water. A sea anchor prevents excessive drifting. The buoy is also equipped with a whistle and reflective strips. This fully meets the requirements of the ISAF Special Regulations, Item 4.22 a) and b).

On reaching the buoy, the injured person can get between the two arms of the recovery loop and hold on to the harness system. One end of the strap is equipped with a stainless steel carabiner that the person concerned can put around their body for additional security.

If the ship approaches for rescue, the loops in the upper area of the buoy are used to rescue the person. If this is not possible, the person can be lifted out of the water using a halyard and a winch, provided the belt is securely wrapped around the person's body.

The SeaCurity Rescue Marker Buoy comes in two versions:

1. Packed in red bag (manual release)

The item has been designed so that the helmsman of a sailing boat can operate the release strap with one hand. The buoy is therefore to be attached to the railing with the Velcro strips, i as the container faces outwards and the handle for the trigger mechanism faces downwards. If the helmsman activates the buoy by yanking the handle, the buoy falls into the water and inflates immediately. This marks the site of the accident as quickly as possible. The signal light on top of the buoy starts flashing when it comes into contact with the water.

Specification:

  • Material inflation body: polyurethane coated nylon fabric

  • Inflation Mechanism: Halkey Roberts 840 manual trigger

  • CO-2 cartridge: 60 grams with ½ `` thread

  • Manual inflation valve

  • drogue

  • whistle

  • Reflective stripes in the upper area

  • stabilization weight

  • Packed in a bag with Velcro for attachment to the railing

  • Item colour: neon yellow

  • Bag colour: signal red

  • Weight: 4.0kg

  • Packed in ABS container (automatic release, more ballast weight, AIS pocket)

2. Packed in ABS container

This buoy is a further development of the article described above. In this version, the buoy has an MK5 automatic release mechanism from UML. When the container is opened, the buoy falls into the water by itself and then inflates automatically. The container is made of durable ABS material and has a vent screw on the back.

In addition, 2 pockets were attached at different heights so that AIS systems can be inserted. The bags are designed for the AIS systems SEAANGEL from FT-Tec GmbH/Austria, which you can also get from us.

We have increased the ballast weight by 1.6 kg so that the buoy remains as upright as possible in the water even with the AIS systems plugged in.

You can also get the corresponding replacement cartridge sets from us to reload the buoy after it has been triggered.
